Today, Senator Warner continued his tour through Virginia with a morning stop at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. There, he led a roundtable on how to improve the quality of care for Medicare patients suffering from chronic illness, such as high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease or diabetes.
Senator Warner received a standing ovation on Tuesday when he told visiting members of the National Association of Home Care & Hospice that "we are overdue as a nation for an adult conversation about end-of-life planning."

On a blistering 99-degree day that shattered temperature records, Senator Warner returned to Virginia's Eastern Shore and Hampton Roads to highlight the region's role in the nation's space program as well as efforts to strengthen the economic recovery and spur innovation in our public schools.

Senator Warner traveled to Norfolk, Newport News and Williamsburg this weekend to check-in with small business owners and community leaders on issues that ranged from health care to the economy, including Wall Street and the continuing gridlock in Congress.

The community has been one of the hardest hit during the economic downturn -- and this former self-described "Sweatshirt Capital of the World" has been struggling for years with the economic challenges caused by the decline in U.S.-based textile manufacturing.
