On the Road: Staycation Day Two
Aug 25 2011
"Staycation" day two started bright and early at Goochland High School where Senator Warner greeted students, teachers and administrators on their third day of school.
"So on your second day there's an earthquake, and this weekend there might be a hurricane?" The Senator said. "Pretty boring week huh?"
Senator Warner spoke a little about the importance of education and taking risks before taking questions from the crowd about oil prices, teacher salaries (from a student!) and even parking passes.
He finished by entreating students to vote and learn about what's going on in the world. "If you don't vote, don't complain," senator warner said. "This is your country now. Go make something of it.
Our next stop was the new Rolls Royce factory in Prince George County. Senator Warner toured the advanced manufacturing facility, which has partnered with the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing to bring more jobs to Virginia.
We spent the rest of the day speaking with Virginians in a series of town halls in Richmond, Dinwiddie, and in South Hill.Day three begins tomorrow morning. Stay tuned for more.
