On the final day of his 1,000 mile Virginia trip, Senator Mark Warner woke up early to hit the road again after unexpectedly catching up with the voice of the Virginia Tech Hokies, Bill Roth.

Senator Warner first met with an engaged crowd of community and business leaders in Pulaski, VA. The more than 150 people in attendance asked smart questions about education, health care and the budget.

After driving down the road to Marion, Senator Warner served as the commencement speaker at the graduation ceremony for the Blue Ridge Jobs Corps. Job Corps is an education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 receive career technical and academic training. Blue Ridge Jobs Corps is consistently ranked among one of the best in the country.
"Many politicians think Jobs Corps is just a line item in the budget, but being here today drives home how important this is to the community," Senator Warner said. "I am so honored to participate in this ceremony."

The Senator then joined 70 local faith congregations in Bristol for the ribbon cutting of Bristol Faith in Action’s new headquarters. Faith in Action brings together folks from all over the community to provide emergency assistance to local families in need.

Later tonight, Senator Warner will head out to the Bristol Motor Speedway for the night race on one of the greatest tracks in the nation.
