We hosted our first Virginia Young Professionals Summit in Richmond this weekend. More than 225 up-and-coming young leaders attended the summit, which was focused on building networks and community involvement among young people.
Sixty-six years after his front-line bravery as a soldier in Nazi-occupied France, 87-year-old Norvelle Langhorne has his Bronze Star. Sen. Mark Warner decorated the former U.S. Army private Friday in a ceremony before about two dozen of Langhorne's family members and friends at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond.

Tornados ripped through the South yesterday, causing hundreds of deaths and massive destruction in several different states, including Virginia. Areas hardest-hit by the storms include Goochland, Halifax, Shenandoah, Washington and other southwest Virginia counties.

Senator Warner hosted our first Virginia Women’s Conference on Nov. 22 in Richmond with the theme A Financial Roadmap for Smart Money Decisions. AARP, Dominion, and Genworth Financial co-sponsored the conference.
“Virginia's international exports are on the rise, but even greater opportunities exist to increase jobs and boost industry by connecting more businesses in the commonwealth to an expanding global market,” the Richmond Times-Dispatch said, describing the objective of Senator Warner’s successful conference on exporting this Monday.
