WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) released the following statement regarding his vote in favor of Elaine Chao to be Transportation Secretary:
“Today I voted in support of Elaine Chao to be our next Secretary of Transportation. Secretary Chao has a strong background in transportation, having held senior positions at the U.S. Department of Transportation in the past. She also knows the challenges of running a large federal agency, having served as Secretary of Labor for eight years. Although I have concerns about many of President Trump’s nominees, I believe Elaine Chao brings management and transportation experience to the Cabinet, and I look forward to working with her on our shared priority of repairing our nation’s infrastructure.”
