Recess Wrap-up

Sep 08 2011

Last week Senator Warner wrapped up a 3 week roadtrip that included 45 events, visiting 34 communities and traveling more than 1,300 miles across the Commonwealth.

Our trip had some great highlights, including greeting students on their third day at Goochland High School (which in their first week experienced an earthquake AND a hurricane), touring the Heartwood Center in Abingdon, which will spotlight crafts and music from across Southwest Virginia, and celebrating the naturalization of 45 new U.S. citizens in Roanoke.

The Senator spoke to a lot of Virginians about specific jobs proposals he’s been working on in DC and his work on the “Gang of Six” deficit reduction package. He got a lot of great feedback and ideas on how to get people back to work.

As always, the Senator said, getting back into the state reinvigorated him to get back to work on the important issues in DC.
