Senator Warner joined his colleagues in approving the Omnibus Lands bill this afternoon. The legislation promotes outdoor recreation, ecotourism, land conservation and wildlife preservation in Southwest Virginia.
Virginia will receive $164 million to help make its homes and offices energy efficient, part of a nationwide investment of $8 billion allocated by the Department of Energy from the economic recovery package.
Senator Warner asked OMB Director Peter Orszag how the administration is looking to use their Chief Information, Performance, and Technology Officers to ensure efficiency and accountability with the budget, and said that this is an issue he’d like to see the committee spend more time on.
