Senator Warner traveled across Virginia last week for events in Fredericksburg, Richmond, and Norfolk.
On Monday, the Senator held a town hall meeting at Chancellor’s Village senior living community in Fredericksburg. He spoke on issues including health care, the debt and deficit, and protecting social security for generations to come.
Tuesday morning, Senator Warner held an event with the Virginia Retail Federation and the Retail Merchants Association at Richmond’s La Difference to announce that the retail industry will establish an information sharing platform to better coordinate and prevent cybersecurity threats. After the Target data breach late last year, Senator Warner and Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) called for the creation of such a platform to better protect consumer data.
Later that day, the Senator spoke at the Natural Gas Vehicle Expo and Conference, which was co-hosted by the Virginia Oil and Gas Association and Virginia Clean Cities. Wednesday morning, Senator Warner held a town hall at the DuPont Spruance Plant.

Finally, Senator Warner hosted a town hall on Thursday on Naval Station Norfolk to talk with military families. The Senator and Holly Petraeus, Assistant Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for Servicemember Affairs, took questions from the audience about how to better protect themselves from fraud, which can disproportionately target military families.
