WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner today announced that Eva Teig Hardy, a former state Cabinet official and retired corporate executive, will join his staff as Interim State Director in June. Hardy will oversee the Senator's offices in Abingdon, Norfolk, Richmond and Roanoke, and will serve as one of the Senator's key liaisons with local and state government officials. She will be based in Richmond.

"Eva has been a close friend and advisor for more than 20 years, and I am very pleased we will be able to draw upon her experience and knowledge after working in the private sector and at the local and state government levels on a variety of policy initiatives," Senator Warner said.

Hardy currently works part-time as a Senior Policy Advisor and Consultant at McGuireWoods in Richmond following her retirement as Executive Vice President of Public Policy and Corporate Communications at Dominion Resources, Inc. Hardy joined Dominion in 1990 after serving 17 years in local and state government, including service as Secretary of Health and Human Resources for Virginia Gov. Gerald L. Baliles and Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry for Gov. Charles S. Robb.
