Senator Warner appeared on Fox News and Bloomberg TV to talk about the status of debt ceiling negotiations. “Remember, getting past the debt ceiling is just step one,” the Senator said to Bloomberg’s Peter Cook. “We’ve still got to actually have a real deal to reduce the debt.”

In the afternoon, Senator Warner spoke on the Education Town Hall panel at the La Raza National Conference. As governor of Virginia, Senator Warner launched a series of education initiatives that achieved some remarkable results, including the largest single investment in K-12 education in Virginia history and full funding of the state’s share of public education.

During the La Raza panel, Senator Warner and the other panelists considered reforms that will be necessary as Congress takes up elementary and secondary education in the next few months.
