Priorities

There have been some promising developments in the Senate over the past few days.

First, the chamber passed a two-year federal highway bill on a lopsidedly bipartisan vote of 74-22.

Shortly after that, Senate leaders reached agreement to finally move forward and confirm a bunch of noncontroversial judges whose nominations had been blocked.

And now there’s word the Senate will soon begin considering a House-backed bill to promote start-up businesses.

Senator Warner spoke on the Senate floor today about the need to move forward on bipartisan legislation to promote start-ups and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen this much bipartisan movement in the Senate.

But then, when you consider the past couple of years, the bar is set pretty low.

However, we're hoping this trend toward bipartisanship continues...
