WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) will travel across Virginia this week to participate in a wide variety of programs, meetings and public events.

He will promote a new program in Northern Virginia to help military veterans find technology-related jobs, and highlight successful efforts to help veterans access the V-A benefits they’ve earned at events in Williamsburg and Roanoke. Sen. Warner also will speak during naturalization ceremonies for 75 new American citizens in Richmond, and host a roundtable conversation about higher education affordability issues with students and their parents in Hampton Roads.

In addition, Sen. Warner will discuss his bipartisan legislation to strengthen the mortgage finance system at a meeting with Hampton Roads homebuilders, bankers and REALTORS. In Southwest Virginia, Sen. Warner will address new graduates of a regional job-training program, and celebrate the success of a local faith-based program that helps families in crisis.  The week also includes several meetings with a wide variety of Virginia business and community leaders.

Sen. Warner also is scheduled to throw the opening pitch at a Richmond Squirrels baseball game on Tuesday night, and he will end the week at Friday night’s Food City 250 NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
