On the Road: Richmond & Norfolk

Senator Warner has been traveling the Commonwealth the last few weeks on weekends and no-vote days. He spent last Friday in Richmond and Saturday in Norfolk, delivering keynote speeches at the Asian & Latino International Trade Summit and Norfolk State University’s commencement, in addition to hosting a roundtable discussion in Goochland County with leaders from Virginia’s agricultural community .
At Friday’s Trade Summit, Senator Warner spoke about the important of supporting international business opportunities for Virginia companies. "Trade has been on back burner for too long,” Sen. Warner told the audience. “We need to move it forward.”
In Goochland, Senator Warner met with 50 growers and producers to discuss the “Gang of Eight” immigration reform plan. “This bipartisan proposal is a broad-based approach that would provide a reliable and competent workforce for our nation’s farms and businesses,” Senator Warner said.
On Saturday, Senator Warner addressed 900 graduates at Norfolk State University’s commencement. "Most of everything I've learned, in my life, has come from failure,” Senator Warner said. “One of the things that we have to make sure, in this America, is that everybody gets that fair shot to succeed."
