Honoring Virginia's Hispanic Community
Sep 11 2012
Senator Warner marked the 11th anniversary of September 11 this morning with a moment of silence at the start of a gathering of leaders in the Virginia Hispanic community. "Porque hoy es el 11 aniversario,” Senator Warner told attendees, “let's take a moment to reflect on that terrible day -- and thank those who serve.”
The Senator hosted today’s gathering with longtime friend and Arlington County Board Vice Chairman Walter Tejada. About 50 leading members of Virginia’s Latino community attended and had the opportunity to visit with Senator Warner and members of his staff.
Senator Warner thanked those who attended for their involvement in the community.
“I look forward to the day when the changing face of Virginia and the rest of the country is reflected in our representative government,” the Senator said.
