Senator Warner requested detailed information from the Secretary of the U.S. Army on plans to correct the "dysfunctional" and "chaotic" management system at Arlington National Cemetery.
On Thursday, Secretary John McHugh announced the results of an investigation into allegations of faulty oversight and management at Arlington, which is located in Virginia and has served as the nation's pre-eminent military cemetery for nearly 130 years.
In his letter to Secretary McHugh, Senator Warner asked for an update on the Army's plans to correct the issues "at the earliest possible date."
“I am appalled by recent reports of what appears to have been chronic mismanagement at Arlington National Cemetery. The systemic problems which already have been documented are clearly unacceptable and extremely disrespectful to the families and loved ones of our fallen heroes and veterans honored at Arlington.”
