Today Senator Warner and a coalition of energy leaders unveiled a set of recommendations designed to double U.S. energy productivity by 2030. “Doubling our energy productivity will yield huge returns for our economy and increase our competitiveness,” said Senator Warner, who serves as co-chair of the Alliance to Save Energy with National Grid U.S. President Tom King.

We kicked off day two of a three day swing around Southwest Virginia yesterday with a visit to Buchanan Mine #1 near the town of Oakwood. Senator Warner greeted miners before suiting up and heading down into the mine.
BLUEFIELD, Va. — U.S. Senator Mark Warner, D-Va., went underground on Thursday to shed some light on the nation’s need for a National Energy Policy, more success on job creation and dramatic action on the U.S. debt and deficit crisis.
Senator Warner today began a three day trip through Southwest Virginia with a stop at the Lee County Chamber of Commerce in Jonesville. He spoke to about 85 people and answered questions relating to several of the issues he's done a lot of work on, including energy, education, and the fiscal cliff.
Senator Warner held a series of town hall meetings, toured small businesses and threw the opening pitch at a collegiate league baseball game during a weekend of travel across southside Virginia.
Yesterday Senator Warner kicked off a two-day conference between federal agencies and manufacturers at NASA Langley in Hampton. The conference’s focus was advanced composite materials and Hampton Roads’ modeling and simulation infrastructure.
U.S. Sen. Mark Warner is hoping to spark the creation of a public-private partnership involving NASA Langley Research Center and private manufacturers to develop new uses for lightweight, man-made composite materials on aircraft and other products.

“There's a clear nexus between our national security and our energy security,” former Senator John Warner said yesterday at a Senate Energy Committee hearing in Norfolk. Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire and Senator Mark Warner convened the hearing aboard the USS Kearsarge (the first hearing aboard a ship in more than 50 years!) to learn more about energy conservation efforts in the armed forces.
