U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) will travel across Virginia this week to participate in a wide variety of programs, meetings and public events.
Senator Mark Warner stopped by Northern Virginia Community College on Sunday to continue his push for national immigration reform. During a special town hall meeting the college’s Woodbridge campus, Warner touted the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.
Senator Warner joined Northern Virginia faith and community leaders last night to announce an agreement with several leading banks to provide housing assistance in Prince William County – the hardest-hit Virginia locality during the housing foreclosure crisis.
Before Mark Warner became a multi-millionaire in the telecommunications industry and was elected as Virginia’s governor and then one of its two U.S. senators, he grappled with something familiar to many people: failure.

Yesterday Senator Warner grabbed a handful of letters and emails from constituents, deciding to call some of those Virginians personally to listen to their concerns and express that he shared their frustration with Congress, but would continue to work to replace these broad cuts with a smarter bipartisan proposal.

Senator Warner celebrated the beginning of "the year of the snake" on Sunday at the Eden Center in Falls Church. The Senator watched the lion dance and an impressive fireworks display and participated in the flag ceremony.
Senator Warner met today with the entire NoVA congressional delegation to work on strategy to relocate the FBI Headquarters to Northern Virginia.Despite individually representing different constituencies and potential FBI relocation sites, the bipartisan delegation vowed to work together to bring the FBI to Virginia.

Senator Warner called into three morning radio shows in Virginia today to discuss the looming fiscal cliff. He spoke with John Fredericks, whose morning show is broadcast in Norfolk, Richmond and Northern Virginia, and he also dialed-in to WRVA in Richmond and Washington’s WTOP Radio.
Crowdfunding a Startup

“Crowdfunding has the potential to not only change the way that startup businesses access capital, but to allow entrepreneurs to create and keep jobs in places like Danville or Roanoke,” Senator Warner said today in Arlington at the first of a series of events that he’s holding to help Virginia entrepreneurs better understand how crowdfunding can be a tool for business growth.

Senator Warner had a hometown town hall meeting this morning at the United Way headquarters in Alexandria. The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce hosted the town hall, and members asked questions on topics ranging from energy, education, and, obviously, deficit reduction.
