Mark Center BRAC traffic: Enough is enough

The Department of Defense Inspector General released a report today arguing that the proposed move of almost 6,500 workers to the Mark Center would result in “extreme traffic congestion with possible gridlock conditions” in the West End of Alexandria. “The Army needs to take a time out on putting more people in the building until we have transportation improvements in place,” Senator Warner said.

Senator Warner helped cut the ribbon on defense contractor Northrop Grumman’s new Fairfax headquarters. After a countrywide search, Northrop Grumman, a Fortune 100 company, relocated its corporate headquarters to Virginia from California, bringing with it 500 jobs for the Commonwealth.

Stuart students hail from 75 countries and speak 47 languages. Senator Warner’s advice? Ending VIP reservations at Arlington

Senator Warner appeared before the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee today to press the committee to vote to end the practice of reserving gravesites for VIPs at Arlington National Cemetery. Reserving gravesites has been against Army regulations since 1962, but has continued for many years under at least two different Superintendents. The bill passed the House three weeks ago.
