Presenting a long overdue Silver Star

Senator Warner had the immense honor of presenting 95-year-old World War II veteran Ralph Kuethe with a Silver Star, the third highest military decoration awarded for gallantry in action. Colonel Kuethe earned the distinction during his heroic service almost 70 years ago.
The US government might now weigh in on Facebook's secret 2012 study on the moods of nearly 700,000 users. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.) has penned a letter (PDF) to the Federal Trade Commission asking the regulatory agency to investigate the issue.

During a hour-long teletown hall last night, Senator Warner dialed tens of thousands of NoVA residents to take questions on important issues like fixing the immigration system and making higher education more affordable and accessible.
Yesterday Senator Warner joined Governor Terry McAuliffe, Congressman Bobby Scott and Virginia Senator Henry Marsh in Richmond to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Warner, speaking to VCOG’s board and guests at the Library of Virginia, reviewed the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA), which he co-sponsored with Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Rep. Elijjah Cummings (D-Maryland) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-California).
Yesterday, Senators Warner and Kaine hosted a group of Norfolk students on an end-of-the-year trip to tour the Capitol and Washington D.C.
