Fighting for military families
Jan 23 2012
Five weeks after demanding results from the Navy over inadequate conditions in military housing, Senator Warner returned to Hampton Roads today to examine repairs made to Lincoln Military Housing properties that affected by mold and water damage.
One of the homes we visited had previously been condemned and the family had been moved to a different property. In another, extensive repairs had been made to damaged areas and the air ducts had been fully cleaned.
“Progress has been made…. but we need to stay on this,” Senator Warner said after the tour. “These families have got my commitment that we’re going to stay on this until every family’s problems have been resolved.”
Later, in the afternoon, Senator Warner helped dedicate Tidewater Community College’s new Regional Health Professions Center. The 65,000 square foot facility will serve thousands of students each year with state-of-the-art training for in specific health professions.
“We need to have more programs like this to train people in high-need areas,” Senator Warner said. “I commend TCC for being a leader in innovative, real-world focused education.”
