WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) released this statement after the Air Force announced its selection of Northrop Grumman to produce the Long Range Strike Bomber:

"I applaud the Air Force's selection of Northrop Grumman to produce the Long Range Strike Bomber.‎ The Air Force has conducted a comprehensive competition to determine who will build this vital asset. I agree with Secretary Carter that this is a strategic investment for the next 50 years. This aircraft will replacing our aging fleet of bombers, providing a leap in technology that will enable us to reach deep into denied areas, even as adversary air defenses and surface to air missiles advance. I look forward to watching this important program as it develops."
