Moving Forward on Bipartisan Deficit Plan
Apr 18 2011
There was a lot of news coverage over the weekend about the Senate’s so-called “Gang of Six,” the bipartisan group of Senators organized by Sen. Warner and Georgia Republican Saxby Chambliss four months ago.
Sen. Warner told newsman Bob Schieffer on the CBS program Face the Nation that the group “is very close” to agreement on a bipartisan plan to tackle the nation’s short-term deficits and longer-term debt. Click on the picture below to watch the video.
Meanwhile, reporter Whit Johnson profiled the “Gang of Six” on the CBS Evening News, and Jackie Calmes of the New York Times News Service profiled group members Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Sen. Chambliss.
