Honoring the life and service of Dorothy Height

Senator Warner signed on to legislation today that would honor the life and service of Dorothy Height, a civil rights pioneer who passed away today at the age of 98.
Dr. Height, who was born in Richmond in 1912, was the former president of the National Council of Negro Women and a leading female voice for equality during the civil rights movement.
Senator Warner said today:
"Dr. Height was one of our nation's leading voices in the fight for equality and justice for all Americans. Her courage, commitment and service during the civil rights movement and since then have helped our nation take giant steps forward, and it is important that we celebrate her legacy."
