Monday night's game between #10 Virginia Tech and #3 Boise State is widely considered the strongest opening week college football contest in the country this Labor Day weekend.

Senator Warner and his Republican colleague Jim Risch of idaho have made a friendly, bipartisan wager on the outcome of the game: the Senator representing the losing team has agreed to pose for photos on the steps of the U.S. Capitol wearing the jersey from the winning team.

"I happen to think my friend Jim Risch will look great wearing Hokie maroon and burnt orange," Senator Warner predicted. "I can't wait to see the Broncos face Coach Frank Beamer's energized Hokie defense and experience first-hand the awesome enthusiasm of Virginia Tech's committed fans."

Senator Risch was equally bull-ish on his Broncos. “The state of Idaho is excited to see the third-ranked Broncos take on the Hokies, with many of the BSU faithful traveling across the country for the game," Sen. Risch said. "My wife, Vicki, and I will be there cheering for a Boise State victory and are confident of the outcome. As history has shown, BSU should never be underestimated, and I look forward to seeing Senator Warner put on Bronco blue and orange.”

Both Senators will be attending Monday's game.

And be sure to check back here afterwards -- to see the photos of Senator Risch in Tech's colors.
