Senator Warner appeared on Bloomberg Television's "Political Capital" with Al Hunt this weekend to discuss the latest issues facing the Senate Banking Committee, from executive compensation to financial regulatory reform.  

During the interview, which was taped from our Capitol Hill office on Friday, Senator Warner discussed the Banking Committee's work on overhauling the financial regulatory system.  

“If we did not learn the lessons of the worst financial meltdown in all our lifetimes and try to put new rules of the road in place, I think it would be a disaster,” Warner said.

Hunt also asked Senator Warner about executive compensation for institutions who have received taxpayer assistance, and his proposal for a systemic risk council.
