“Virginia's international exports are on the rise, but even greater opportunities exist to increase jobs and boost industry by connecting more businesses in the commonwealth to an expanding global market,” the Richmond Times-Dispatch said, describing the objective of Senator Warner’s successful conference on exporting this Monday.

Senator Warner hosted the conference, held in Richmond, to connect Virginia businesses with opportunities to increase their opportunities to export goods and services.  About 200 Virginians attended the conference, and representatives from 15 agencies, including the Department of State, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Small Business Administration and World Bank.

"If you are going to grow you're going to have to take advantage of these export opportunities," the Senator said to the Associated Press.

“Ninety-five percent of the world's consumers do not live in the United States,” the Free Lance-Star noted, “That’s a lot of buying power.”

Keynote speakers at the Conference included United States Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and Export-Import Bank President Fred Hochberg.
