ARRAEarlier this week, Senator Warner announced that the Department of Agriculture will release $1.2 million from the stimulus package to provide grants or loans to 31 localities and non-profit organizations to fund community facilities and emergency responder projects in Virginia.

The funding, which will be provided through USDA Rural Development Community Facilities program, will help finance and develop facilities for public use in rural areas including childcare centers, hospitals, medical clinics, assisted living facilities, fire and rescue stations, police stations, community centers, public buildings and transportation.
