WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, today celebrated the 25^th anniversary of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). The U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution this week recognizing the milestone for this critical intelligence agency, which collects, analyzes and distributes a variety of imagery and geospatial information to service members and policymakers across the U.S. government.

“As Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I’m pleased to recognize the 25^th anniversary of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, headquartered in Springfield, Virginia,” said Sen. Warner. “For 25 years, employees of the NGA have provided warfighters and policymakers with the intelligence needed to protect Americans and our national security. I want to express my gratitude to all the men and women of the NGA for their past and continued efforts to provide timely and accurate geospatial intelligence in defense of the United States.”

The bipartisan resolution recognizing the NGA’s 25^th anniversary on October 1 was also co-sponsored by Intelligence Committee Vice Chairman Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Committee member Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO).
