Sen. Warner Reintroduces Bipartisan Bill Honoring Intelligence Professionals
Legislation designates July 26 as 'U.S. Intelligence Professionals Day'

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner (D-VA), Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Roy Blunt (R-MO), and Richard Burr (R-NC), members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, introduced a joint resolution today that would designate July 26 as United States Intelligence Professionals Day to honor intelligence officers, past and present, for their service and professionalism.
U.S. Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) marked the sixth anniversary of the April 16th shootings at Virginia Tech with a speech on the floor of the Senate today. He praised Virginia officials for moving quickly after the 2007 shootings to add mental health court records to Virginia’s instant background check for gun purchases.
On Friday Senator Warner travelled through Northern Virginia, holding events highlighting a few of the nation’s challenges and his work in Congress to address them.
Sen. Warner Hosts 'Up to Us' Winners

Today Senator Warner hosted 13 college students from across the country who had participated in the ‘Up to Us’ campaign, a year-long campus competition that engaged students to find innovative ways of highlighting the federal government’s massive long-term debt.
At yesterday’s Senate Commerce Committee hearing, Senator Warner questioned witnesses about how creating a national infrastructure bank could help American trade remain globally competitive. He highlighted the need to upgrade American infrastructure while striking a balance between near-term fiscal discipline and investment in future growth.

On Monday, Senator Warner spoke at Crowdcheck’s second annual crowdfunding conference. The Senator spoke about the potential of securities crowdfunding, which would allow startup companies to make equity offerings to investors through websites and raise up to $1 million per year from investors online.

Senator Warner stopped by Ruby's in Harrisonburg yesterday afternoon to talk about Startup 3.0, his bipartisan effort to create jobs through the promotion of startup businesses.
Senator Warner spent this morning in Northern Virginia leading a roundtable conversation on end-of-life issues with about 50 hospital executives, nurses, religious leaders, advocates for patients and financial planners. The discussion, held in Loudoun County, focused on issues involved in supporting people with advanced illness and their families.
